Kasargod, Feb 3: In a tragic incident which occurred at Mundyathadka near Badiyadka in the district on Tuesday February 2 evening, a man murdered his own elder bother by stabbing him.

Vasudeva (35),son of K Koragappa Poojary, resident of Sarali in Mundyathadka lost his life in this incident.

Policemen said that Chandrahas (26), younger brother of Vasudeva, was the murder-accused.

No one else was at home when the two brothers fought over some issues, which culminated in the said murder. The neighbours rushed there after hearing shouts, and found Vasudeva lying in a pool of blood. He was immediately rushed to the government hospital here, but he could not be saved. Vasudeva's death was caused by a knife that was stuck into his throat.

The family members said that both Chandrahas and Vasudeva suffered from certain level of mental derangement. Vasudeva was working for a hotel in Seetangoly. He is survived by mother and brothers.

The body of the deceased was kept in the mortuary of the general hospital. Policemen belonging to Badiyadka station have initiated investigation.
