Beltangady: Bike rider loses life in hit and run case

Beltangady, Feb 4: After an unknown vehicle knocked down a motor bike before speeding away late night on Tuesday February 2, the person who was riding the motor bike died on the spot. The accident occurred at Shaktinagara near Guruvayanakere in the taluk.

Shekhar (32), resident of Aladangady Pilya Gurumaradka, lost his life in this accident. Santosh Devadiga, who was riding the pillion, survived with critical injuries.

Both Shekhar and Santosh had attended a marriage function that night and were returning home, when this accident occurred. The vehicle which hit the motor bike did not stop. Some people who came that way sometime later admitted the injured to hospital.

A case stands registered in the police station here. The police are trying to make out the identity of the rogue vehicle.
