Mangaluru, Feb 4: The two students of St Aloysius PU College who had gone missing a few days ago have been traced at Shoranur in Palakkad, Kerala, sources said.

Jacqueline (17), a resident of Chilimbi near Ladyhill in the city, and Smriti (17), a native of Suratkal, were found near the railway station at Shoranur on Thursday February 4.

It is learnt that the girls had left their homes as they were dejected at scoring low marks in exams and reluctant to continue their studies.

Sources said that Bunder police have gone to Shoranur to bring back the girls.

Two students studying in first year PU (commerce) in St Aloysius College here have gone missing under mysterious circumstances. Although both disappeared without a clue on Monday, efforts to trace them have proved futile till now.

Jacqueline (17), a resident of Chilimbi near Ladyhill in the city, and Smriti (17), a native of Suratkal, are the two students whose whereabouts are unknown as yet. Both of them had attended college as usual on Monday morning. After waiting for their return that evening, parents of both the students filed missing complaint in Bunder police station here on that evening.

Under the directions of the city police commissioner, a special team has been formed to investigate their disappearances. Initial investigation by police department has revealed that one of the girl students was in regular touch with a student of another college. A release by the police has requested people having any information about this case to contact Bunder police station on 0824- 2220516.
