Bantwal: Hit by bus, two-wheeler rider loses life

Bantwal, Feb 5: After a private bus hit a two-wheeler at the elevated portion of the road in Bolangady, Narahari Nagara in Panemangalore village in the taluk on the evening of Thursday February 4, the two-wheeler rider lost his life. The youth succumbed to his injuries when being taken to a hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Vasant B (26), resident of Perla Vaninagara in Kasargod district. It is said that the bus was moving at breakneck speed when it knocked down the motor bike. Due to the impact of the collision,the bike rider was tossed to the road, resulting in critical injuries, locals stated.

The people who witnessed the accident immediately shifted the injured to a private hospital at B C Road. From there, they got help to shift him to the government hospital here.

A report about the accident was registered at the traffic police station at Melkar near here. It is gathered that Vasant, who happened to be a Yakshagana artiste with the second Mela of Kateel, also operated a garage at Kashimath, Vittal.
