Mangaluru, Feb 5: Tulu film 'Pavitra Beedida Ponnu' produced under the banner of Indira Movies was released at Mangaluru's Suchithra talkies on Friday, February 5.
'Chandikori' film director Devdas Kapikad and 'Chalipolilu' film producer Prakash Pandeshwar lit the traditional lamp and inaugurated the programme. “It is high tide for Tulu films. Several Tulu films are being released. The audience naturally accept films that provide suitable message and taste”, said Devdas Kapikad.
“Tulu films are growing as an industry. Besides good films, talented youth also are joining Tulu film industry”, said Prakash Pandeshwar.
'Pavitra Beedida Ponnu' Tulu film producer Anantharama Rao Yermal said that he has produced the film at his ripe age of 83 due to his goodwill and love towards Tulu language. “I am confident that the audience will accept the film. Let an association of Tulu film producers be created,” he said.
Dakshina Kannada district journalist's association president Jagannatha Shetty Bala, producers Gangadhar Shetty, Kishore Kothary, R Dhanaraj, Sharath Kadri, Pammi Kodialbail, Vaman Shetty, Roopesh, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Umesh Mijar, film heroine Chirashree Anchan, Ranjan Boloor and Ranjith Suvarna were present.
Saujanya Hegde compered the programme. Pavithra Beedida Ponnu' film has been released in Suchithra, Big Cinemas, PVR, Cinepolis, Kalpana in Mangaluru, Inax in Manipal, Nakshatra in B C Road, Amarashri in Moodbidri and Aruna theatres in Puttur.
Beedi industry has grown as one of the biggest industries in the coastal districts. The hopes and the changing scenario of the industry is reflected in a unique way in the film.
Cinematography is by J G Krishna, music is by Risel Sahi and dance direction is by Ashok Raj in the film. Two stunts under the direction of Siddaraj have been captured in the film. 'Kuseldarase' fame Navin D Padil, Arvind Bolar and Bhojaraj Vamanjoor have acted in the film. Shravanth, Chirashree Umesh Mijar, Ranjan Boloor, Raghu Pandeshwar, Manoj Puttur, Shobha Rai, Vidya, Supritha, Deepika, Ranjitha Shet, Rithesh Mangaluru, Vasanth, Thimmappa Kulal and others also are in the cast.
Producer Anantharam Rao has provided the story. Script and direction is by Venkatesh. Dialogues are by Ranjith Suvarna.
