Mangaluru: ZP election - Congress releases list of candidates from DK

Mangaluru, Feb 5: The list of candidates from Congress for the upcoming zilla panchayat election in Dakshina Kannada was released at the party's office here on Friday February 5.

District in-charge minister Ramanath Rai released the list.

Addressing mediapersons, he said, "The list has been prepared after taking suggestions from all party leaders. Equal opportunity has been given to members of all communities, even though there are more candidates from some of the constituencies.

"Four of the candidates are sitting ZP members and many are fresh faces," he added.

Former chairman of Legislative Council V R Sudarshan warned of strict action against rebel candidates. "Only the official candidates should file nominations and all the party members and leaders should support them. Anyone who goes against the party's guidelines and contests as rebel candidate will be dealt with strictly," he said.

MLC Ivan D'Souza, Puttur MLA Shakuntala Shetty, district Congress interim president Kodijal Ibrahim among others were present.

    Not only in DK ,entire state if election is held now Congress will retain power and BJP will be out.The situation will be so till 32 brand thelikeda bolli,Kubera,Shakuni,etc., are at the helm of party affairs in the state.Any doubt?

    Knowing CONgress reasonably well...I can assure you at least half from these candidates will be defeated by their own CONgress brethren...25% by BJPeee...about 9-12 will be elected to take commission from projects...
