Udupi, Feb 6: Mark Castelino, who was residing at Bolaragudde at Udyavar near here died after falling into the storm drain by the side of the road on Thursday February 4.
As per information, Mark was heavily drunk on Thursday night. When walking by the edge of the concreted storm drain towards his home, he slipped, fell into the drain and died. The fact that he had died came to be known on Friday morning after locals saw him lying face down in the drain.
He would have died out of the injury suffered due to the fall into the drain or because of suffocation due to the fall, it is suspected. His wife works in a foreign country. He has also left behind a son.
A case of unnatural death was registered at Kaup police station about this incident and the body was sent for postmortem.
