Udupi: Families fight over vacating house- complaints of assault filed

Udupi, Feb 6: After two groups fought with each other both verbally and physically over vacating near here on Friday February 5, a complaint and counter complaint were filed against each other at Brahmavar police station.

It is gathered that Nityananda, Soorya, Udaya,Kalavathi, Vedavathi, Krishni, Radha, and some others reside on a piece of land owned by Roselyn Crasta, wife of Edwin Crasta (59) near Badanagoly temple at Hosala village, Barkur. Roselyn currently resides at Moodutonse, Kallianpur. Edwin Crasta had visited his old house located in this area, when the above people attacked and beat him up, it is said. Crasta said in his complaint that the people pushed around his wife, Roselyn Crasta, and hit her, in addition to posing her life threat by brandishing a sickle.

In his complaint, Suresh Poojary claimed that Edwin and his wife had forcibly entered his residence illegally, and asked them to vacate the house. When his elder sister, Vedavati, wanted to know the reason, Roselyn slapped her. When elder brother, Uday, went to shield Vadavathi, he was pushed to the ground. "The couple said that they would not spare us if we continue to live here, and warned of sending us to jail," he stated.

Both cases stand registered at Brahmavar police station.
