Fun-filled get-together ‘Kelarai Milan’ unites parishioners

Dubai, Feb 7: A day-long event of fun, games, songs, dance and celebration marked the first ever get-together of St Anne Church, Kelarai parishioners residing in the UAE, at the Quick Bite Restaurant, Dubai on Friday February 5.

It gave a unique opportunity for the parishioners to meet their old friends, neighbours and schoolmates and to revive old memories.

The event began with the compere for the day, Canute Kelarai introducing the idea and motive behind organizing the event. Organizing team member Anup Monteiro welcomed all who were present. It was followed by prayer lead by Asha Pereira. 

Varieties of games were conducted throughout the day for children and elders in order to engage the groups with activities and prizes were awarded to the winners. 

Anil Vas and Vinod Periera shared their opinion about the event. Glen Carlo entertained the audience by singing some good songs. Anil Spinoza performed for a dance number. DJ Sachin entertained the crowd with some of the best songs. Anup and Canute performed comedy skits. 

A message by the parish priest of St Anne Church, Kelarai, Fr. Joachim Fernandes was read out on the occasion. Symptoms lunch was served. The programme ended with the ‘Baila’ and traditional song ‘Laudate’.

Canute Kelarai thanked all who helped in organizing the event. He especially thanked Anup Monteiro and Gladson Menezes for their support to conduct the event. Jochim Monteiro and family, St Peter Ward, Kelarai was the main sponsor of the event.

    Very sincere Congratulations to one and all gathered for the Kelarai Milan get-together. Felt happy to see quite a few familiar faces....

    I am sure my late Father Vokil Kaithan Lobo would have been really happy up there in Heaven and specially seek immense blessings upon one and all who graced the occasion.
