Mangaluru, Feb 7: The foundation stone for 'Giovanni', the tenth residential project being undertaken by The Guardian Infrastructure Builders and Developers at Kulshekar here was laid on Sunday, February 7.

Fr Victor Machado, parish priest of Kulshekar church blessed the occasion and laid the foundation for the new residential apartment along with the other dignitaries.

Ganesh M P of Guardian Infrastructure Builders and Developers welcomed the gathering and announced that the firm would be building a public toilet in the surroundings of Kulshekar and maintaining it for 2 years under its CSR fund.

Addressing the gathering, MLA J R Lobo said, "I congratulate the builders and the land owners. I wish this apartment gets completed at the earliest and wish peace and happiness to the families who would be residing here. Today we can see a lot of skyscrapers in Mangaluru. As the price of land has gone high, people prefer to stay in multistoried apartments. At the same time, there are many apartment projects coming up, and there is a fear whether all these many apartments would be sold. There is need for investment and people to come to Mangaluru. Because of some unpleasant incidents in the city, people and industries are reluctant to come here. We should condemn such incidents and raise our voice against the wrong. The silence of the majority of the population causes the problem. Let us all condemn the wrong happenings and build a good city."

Mayor of Mangaluru City Corporation Jacintha Vijay Alfred said, "With the blessings and direction of elders, we can achieve success in life. I congratulate the builders and land owner on their new venture and wish them all success."

CREDAI president D B Mehta said, "Guardian Constructions has proved its commitment and quality time and again. I am happy to have them as a member of CREDAI. CREDAI members have taken up many activities under their CSR fund, and I urged them to do more. I congratulate and wish them all the very best."

Sudhir Shetty, opposition leader of Mangaluru City Corporation said, "Ganesh M P has proved that with determination and commitment, a person can achieve anything in life. I congratulate and wish him all success in all his future endeavours. I wish peace and happiness to all the residents who would be residing in this apartment."

Prajna D'silva proposed the vote of thanks.

Dr B Anjanappa, MD, Abhay Hospital, Bengaluru, Fr Dr Leo D'souza, former rector of St Aloysius College, Dharmaraj, architect, Valentine D'Silva, land owner and others were present.
