Mangaluru, Feb 8: A new house, built by the United Christian Association (UCA), Mangaluru for Harekala Hajabba was inaugurated in the presence of health minister UT Khader and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, here on Sunday February 7. The house was later handed over to him in the presence of dignitaries.

The United Christian Association (UCA) had promised to build a house for Hajabba last year. The work on the new house had begun in September 2015.

The house is built at a cost of Rs 15 lac and the compound wall and miscellaneous work with an estimated cost of two lac will be completed soon said the president of the association Alban Menezes who contributed a major share in the project.

The UCA had promised Hajabba a new house last year when the president and the office bearers of the UCA learnt that Hajabba was sick due to mental tension regarding the dilapidated condition of his existing house. Their promise was materialized on Sunday February 7 with the inauguration of the house.

Minister U T Khader and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel who witnessed the occasion appreciated the generosity and humanity of the UCA and its president Alban Menezes.
