Haveri: Helmets make hubbies humshakal - Wife rides off with wrong man!

Daijiworld Media Network - Haveri (SP)

Haveri, Feb 9: Sometimes, the helmet rule can have some serious side effects. Not of the medical kind, but the marital kind, at least in this case!

An incident which occurred at Ranebannur in the district on Monday February 8, which was caused by the rule about wearing of helmets by pillion riders, gave some entertainment to the onlookers while those involved with it went through frustrating moments.

Two Honda bikes of approximately similar colour had visited a petrol bunk here for buying petrol at the same time. Women on the pillions of both the motor bikes were wearing helmets as it is mandatory. Both of them got down to facilitate filling of petrol. Both women wore similar-looking dresses. One of them was talking over cellphone when continuing to wear the helmet. She got on the pillion of the nearby bike after petrol was filled.

After some distance, the woman was shaken after observing that the two-wheeler had taken a route which did not lead to her home. She questioned the rider where he was headed. The bike rider was surprised at hearing a strange voice. After checking the woman sitting on the pillion, he realized that he had not got doubly confirmed about the pillion rider's identity before leaving the petrol bunk. The woman turned out to be another man's wife!

The two then returned to the petrol bunk, where the other woman and the husband of the pillion rider were waiting patiently. Eyewitnesses said that there was a minor verbal friction between the two couples over this episode.

This incident has given rise to the necessity for the motor bike riders to confirm before riding away that the lady seated in the back happen to be their wives, particularly so as many wear similar colour helmets and dresses, and men normally are not too good at identifying and differentiating between different colours.

Shock.I heard men leaving their wives,or children at Petrol bunk, forgetting naturally and drive off.with Intention or without I cant judge, but this is new. Here the Lady who went with "Other"bike must have concentrated more on mobile than reality.Couldn't she at least by the touch of other man ,realize she is riding on wrong persons bike?and the rider couldn't realize that wrong woman?strange.I am sure the mistake was later at home had a continuation from both sides. Here the woman was at fault.

This is the mistake of that lady who sat on the wrong bike. She should have seen the person who is driving the bike. The person who drives the bike never sees back to check the identity of the person behind. In a nutshell this is a rare human error to pardon each other.

    C. When one Lady sitting with another Lady's Husband other Lady won't notice even though both the Hubbys are busy with talking to attendant .

Helmet compulsion to Bike drivers is good rule for safety.
However, making it compulsory to pillion riders is more of a nuisance. It's very difficult to carry two helmets, sometime giving lift becomes not possible.
In case of accidents, pillion rider can take care of himself for their hands are free.
But here Wife couldn't recognize husband is real joke! Don't they talk?

Mr. Valerian, Helmet is for Safety not for comfort.

Mostly two wheeler accident, pillion riders thrown away from the Bike. AN mostly they get more injuries than the riders.

People always think about their comforts when they are alive.

Which is better losing life by thinking of comforts or saving life with safety measures by following traffic rules?

If you want comfort, you have to take some strain also.

Easy money , easy lie temporary.

Helmet rules not for the benefit of the Traffic Department, its for the riders benefit.
