Kundapur, Feb 9: Accusing the party leadership of overlooking genuine activists of the party when choosing party candidates for the zilla and taluk panchayat elections, four BJP leaders tendered mass resignations on Monday February 8.

Taluk BJP Yuva Morcha president, Shankar Ankadakatte, Kota BJP Shakti Kendra president, Vittal Poojary, taluk panchayat member, Bharat Shetty, and BJP district Raita Morcha general secretary, Chandramohan, resigned from their posts.

Shankar Ankadakatte informed media persons that he is feeling deeply hurt at the poor treatment of sincere activists of the party, and therefore had decided to part ways. "I have been working for the party as a sincere activist since 1994. The party has totally neglected dalits in this constituency this time. Dalits are facing lot of injustices," said Gopal Kalanji, president of BJP SC Morcha unit of the constituency. He said that mass resignations will be sent ot the party unless the party fails to give importance to Dalit community.

Rajesh Kaveri, president of the local constituency unit of BJP, said that four leaders of the party have tendered their resignations, expressing their resentment over some issues, and that the same has been brought to the notice of party leadership.
