Udupi, Feb 9: In a tragic incident, a pregnant woman committed suicide at Kothpady in Vaddarse under Kota police limits here on Tuesday February 9.

The deceased, identified as Rekha Poojary (28), wife of Ganesh, was six months pregnant.

Rekha and Ganesh, a resident of Kothpady, had a love marriage and there were no marital problems, locals said. The couple has two-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

Rekha had visited her parental house in Manoor just two days ago to participate in Kendotsava and returned to Kothpady, it is said. Her brother's wedding is supposed to be held in a month's time, sources said.

Though the exact reason for taking the extreme step is not known, it is suspected that Rekha hanged herself as she was saddened by some problems in her parental house.

Kota police have registered a case.

So Sad, may her soul rest in peace.
People who loose limbs, siblings etc. come to terms with fate and learns to live with renewed hope. But some people unable to cope up.
I think periodic mental health check ups related to depression should be in place to avert such tragedies.
We never know what's going on in their minds.
    Human lives should be protected.

Sorry to hear the news. Since there were no marital problems and also there was a two and half year old child, this suicide on account of parental house problem seems strange.
Everything is beautiful or not is depending on situation. A school bell sounds irritating at 10 AM and the same bell at 5 PM sounds melodious.

Her suicide will not help to solve any problem rather it worsens it.Investigation to be done to check any foul play from either side.May her soul rest in peace

I am really surprised read such news. Accidents can happen to anybody and may die without any choice. To live there are many choices. If a dog or cattle can live without anybody to look after them, then a human being can live a better life than those poor animals.
