'Irudhi Suttru' director makes guru Mani Ratnam proud

Chennai, Feb 10 (IANS): Filmmaker Sudha Kongara, erstwhile assistant of Mani Ratnam, has impressed her mentor with her latest Tamil-Hindi bilingual "Irudhi Suttru", which features R. Madhavan as a boxing coach.

"He quite enjoyed the film. He told me, 'Great film, good show'. He hugged me and said, 'You will reach great heights'. He's eager to watch my next film," Sudha told IANS.

The film, which also stars Ritika Singh, has turned out to be a money spinner. The Tamil version raked in over Rs.15 crore in two weeks.

"Irudhi Suttru" deals about the relationship between a washed out boxing coach and his student.

Sudha will next work on the Telugu remake of the film with actor Venkatesh.
