Udupi, Feb 10: In a heart-rending news coming in from Kottadi in Vaddarse near Kota in the taluk, a woman committed suicide at her home. The incident occurred on Tuesday February 9, and the woman in question was into the sixth month of her pregnancy, it is gathered.

Rekha Poojary from Kottadi in Voddarse, it is said, killed herself for no apparent reason. Rekha, who hails from Manuru near Tekkatte, had married Ganesh Poojary from Kottadi about seven years ago. She had, in course of time, given birth to a male child.

Although she was a loving and cooperative member of both her parental family and that of her husband, she was very sensitive on some issues and used to get tense and worry over trivial issues and become depressed, it is said. On Tuesday, she got depressed over some minor issue, and committed suicide by tying a rope to the iron rod at the first floor of her house.

In a small piece of paper left behind, she stated that no one was showing care and concern for her and that because of this, she had decided to commit suicide rather than live under such conditions.
