Bengaluru, Feb 10: After the phenomenal success of its ambitious global investors’ summit, ‘Invest Karnataka 2016’, that helped the State to attract investments to the tune of Rs 1.33 lakh crore, Karnataka is now keen on trying its luck and further its investment potential at the ‘Make in India Week’ to be held in Mumbai from February 13 to 18.

A high-level delegation, led by Karnataka’s Large and Medium Industries and Tourism Minister R V Deshpande, Chief Secretary Arvind Jadhav, Industries and Commerce Additional Chief Secretary K Ratna Prabha, Additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner Latha Krishna Rau and other senior officials from the Government will be present at the event to showcase the strengths and opportunities in the manufacturing sector of Karnataka. 

Manufacturing sectors - Auto and Auto Components, Aerospace and Defense, Agri-business and Food processing, Biotechnology, Electronic System Design Manufacturing, Information Technology, Machine tools and Heavy engineering, Pharmaceutical, Textiles and Garments will be Karnataka’s focus areas at the Make in India event. 

Senior heads and representatives of all sectors supporting industrial development in Karnataka will also be present at the Mumbai event.

Over 195 companies, including multinational corporations, 5,000 delegates from 60 countries, and leading industrialists will be participating in the maiden 'Make in India' week.

The Karnataka Pavilion will be at Hall No.22 at the Make in India Centre.

The Karnataka State Seminar Session will be held on February 17 between 10 am to 1 pm at Hall No 16 and B2G Meetings will be held on the same day between 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm.

Additional Chief Secretaries to the Government, Principal Secretaries to the Government and the Heads of the Focus Sector Departments will make presentations at the seminar.

The Sector Session at the Karnataka State Seminar will have eminent speakers from the industry sharing their experiences of doing business in Karnataka and officials from Government Departments highlighting the policies and strengths in each sector.

The Seminar will also emphasize the amendments incorporated in the Aerospace and Pharma Policy to support the sector.

The State Government has invited delegates to register for the Karnataka State Seminar at the Make in India Week.
