Lightweight cabinet - Krishna takes indirect dig at Siddaramaiah government

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Feb 11: Senior Congress leader and former Karnataka chief minister and former governor of Maharashtra, S M Krishna, said that the 'heavyweight cabinet' headed by him was able to achieve progress of Bengaluru. He commented that this is not possible for a lightweight cabinet. He also took to task the government headed by Siddaramaiah and its functioning sometimes directly and indirectly in other times.

The above barbs pointed at the state governments came during the meet of party leaders and election campaign meetings at Hebbal legislative constituency for the bypoll on Wednesday, February 10.

Addressing a meet of leaders belonging to 'Golla' community, he said that his cabinet comprised eminent leaders, and therefore they could together achieve development of Bengaluru. But a ministry with lightweight members cannot achieve such development, he added, pointing barbs indirectly at the current state government.

Speaking at the public meetings at Geddalahalli and Sanjaynagar under Hebbal constituency, he asked the government to lay more stress on development of Bengaluru. "It is not enough if main roads are asphalted. Every road has to be asphalted. I have already talked about this need to Bengaluru development minister, K J George," he stated. By claiming that he is strong and enjoys good health, he dropped hints that his interest in taking political responsibilities has not dried up. He expressed confidence that Congress candidate will win without doubt in this constituency.

Minister, Dinesh Gundu Rao, and former union minister, Jaffer Sharief, had accompanied Krishna in the meeting.

S.M.Krishna was one of the ablest CMs that Karnataka had and the main patron of Bengaluru's IT Sector.

Hope the present Govt. takes the criticism in the right spirit and try to set right the serious issues plaguing Bengaluru, which contributes almost half of the State's GDP and deserves more attention.

This is the most in active Government The Orders passed by the Ministers are not carried out by the Bureaucrats. Not able to fill the pot holes for 3 years in Bangalore. Could not Tar the inner roads for the past seven years or more. Cannot clear Garbage regularly. MLA's and Ministers simply assure. But Nothing happens. I have supported Congress all my life But Now I am changing my prefeence to Shri BSY as He does something.

What Professional you are talking about?

When he was CM he rejected the IT City offer & Mr.Chadra Babu Naid, took that opportunity & provided the requirement & IT City shifted to Andra Pradesh.

Otherwise, long back Bangalore would have developed & by now it would have like Singapor.
