Puttur: Several of family injured as bus overturns at Valalu

Puttur, Feb 12: Several passengers were injured after a private bus plying from Bengaluru towards Mangaluru met with an accident at Valalu in Bajathur here in the wee hours of Friday February 12.

The accident occured at around 4 am when the driver lost control and the bus overturned. Police sources said that the driver was drowsy.

It is learnt that the bus was hired by a family from Manjeshwar, Kasargod to attend a wedding in Bengaluru. The family was returning from Bengaluru when the accident took place. There were 30 passengers in the bus.

The injured have been identified as Manjeshwar residents Sushil, Subramanya, Kishoo Anchaladevi, Shivarama, Abhilash, Manmohan, Shivanand, Avinash, Narasimha, Mahantesh, Hariprasad, Yashoda, Vani, Manjula, Jalaja and Latha.

They were rushed to a hospital in Puttur and then shifted to another hospital in Mangaluru.
