Bantwal: Lensman Kishore Peraje holds photography exhibition

Bantwal, Feb 13: "Goodwill of a publication gets reinforced and grows on account of good photographs. Like media reporters, photographer also works as the eye of the society," said chief of Udayavani Kannada daily's Mangaluru bureau, Manohar Prasad.

He was speaking after inaugurating 'Rajatanadeyallondu Chayakirana', an exhibition of unique photos of daijiworld photojournalist, Kishore Peraje, organized on account of silver jubilee celebrations of taluk working journalists union, Press Club of the taluk, and Bantwal journalists union, under the aegis of Journalists Union Silver Jubilee celebrations committee.

Prasad felt that documenting of light is called as photography, stressing that photos taken under sunlight are very effective. "A photographer needs to master the skill of capturing such photographs. In spite of advances made in the field of technology, photographers need professional approach. In the current scenario, photographers need to be both artists and scientists who are always ready to experiment with new things. He hailed pictures of Kishore Peraje, and hoped that these photos will get exhibited even in district headquarters.

Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police, Dr Sharanappa S D, who was the chief guest, said that a photo depicts news that cannot be covered even by a thousand words. He felt that photos giving glimpses of different angles of human being put up at the exhibition are excellent.

On this occasion, veteran press photographer, Keshava Vital, was felicitated. Vittal, in his address, said that photography is the language of light. He appreciated Peraje for good content found in his photos and congratulated him on his efforts.

Mangalore Press Club president, Dr Ronald Anil Fernandes presided. General secretary of Dakshina Kannada district working journalists union, Srinivas Nayak Indaje, photographer, Kishore Peraje, and others were present. Artist, Manju Vittal, briefed about his findings and experiences about photographs of Kishore Peraje.

President of Journalists union silver jubilee celebrations committee, Ibrahim Adkasthala, welcomed. President of working journalists union, Mounesh Vishwakarma, delivered introductory talk. General secretary of the committee, Sandeep Salian, read out citation. Convener, Vankatesh Bantwal, proposed vote of thanks. Vice president, Ratnadev Punajalkatte presented the programme.
