Dubai: Tulu drama 'Nank Matherla Bodu' gets rousing response

Dubai, Feb 13: 'Nank Matherla Bodu', Tulu drama performed by Gammath Kalavider of Dubai at Emirates theatre, Emirates International School, Dubai Jumeira on Friday evening, February 12 was well appreciated by one and all.

The comedy drama, which was houseful, acted and directed by local artistes provided comedy and also brought tears among the audience.

The audience did not leave their seats though the drama which started in the evening and proceeded till late night. The drama proved that the local artistes are not any less to the professionals. 


























































All the artistes filled life to their roles showing the ups and downs in family lives coupled with comedy. The stages were made to look unique. While there was a traditional house of the coast on one side, there was a distant flat of Mumbai on the other. The music had added extra cheer to the drama.

The drama held to provide fifth year’s monetary help to Mangaluru’s Sevabhava Charitable Trust under the leadership of Kishore D Shetty was created by Mangaluru’s Lakumi team’s Navin Shetty and directed by Gammath Kalavider president Vishwanath Shetty. Music was by Rajesh Bhat.

The programme held before the drama was inaugurated by elite ladies. Acme Building Materials managing director Harish Sherigar, his wife Sharmila Sherigar, Dubai Fortune group of Hotel’s Proprietor Pravin Kumar Shetty, his wife Rupali Shetty, Gammath Kalavider sponsors Harish Bangera, his wife Latha, businessman Gunasheela Shetty, his wife Sahana, Bhagya Premanath Shetty, Gammath Kalavider president Vishwanath Shetty, Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha president Sarvothama Shetty and his wife Usha were present as guests of honour.

Notable people who have excelled in different spheres such as drama, sports, medical services were honoured on the occasion. Shashi Shetty, her husband Raviraja Shetty, Donald Correa, his wife Asha Correa, Geetha R Shetty, her husband Dr Ratnakar Shetty, Kishore D Shetty, Navin Shetty Alake and Rajesh Bhat were felicitated by the elite on the stage.

Acme Building Materials managing director and well-known singer Harish Sherigar and Sai Mallika sang melodious song before the programme and entertained the audience.

    I was eagerly waiting for chidannas act this year since he missed the drama last year and as usual he never fails to entertain us with his superb acting and coordination skills.

    Job well done chidanna and Lavina , really commendable on how you both have taken the overall drama forward and kept all the co-actors together.

    It was indeed a spectacular show. Excellent performance by most of the artists. We were really amazed by the energy of Babanna. Excellent timing and energetic actor…good acting skills

    Good acting and drama overall. Special mention to chidanand Poojary and Girish,comedy timing is very good, we came mainly to see them perform and make us laugh . Expected more scenes of chidanad and Girish together
