Udupi, Feb 14: Udupi block regional Congress president Prashanth Kalmady has resigned protesting the expulsion of former Member of Parliament K Jayaprakash Hegde from the Congress party recently.


“Hegde is a well-known honest politician and he is such a leader that he treats even a grass root worker as his real friend.” said Kalmady.

75 Congress workers including Herur rural Congress president Ravindra Shetty padumane, Udupi assembly constituency youth Congress general secretary Rohith Kadambally, Sampath Shetty Belkale from Udupi Karavali Congress , Umesh Karkera, Ambrose, Shankar Malpe, Ashok Malpe, Yashraj Shetty from youth Congress, Prakyath Kumar, Jayanth Sherigar, Kuldeep Shetty Honnala, Vikhyath Shetty Kalyanpur, Al Suraj Gopalapura, Nagesh Mendon have resigned from the party protesting teh expulsion of Hegde.
