Udupi: Yuva brigade holds Swachata campaign at Paura colony

Udupi, Feb 14: The members of Yuva Brigade organized Swachata campaign at Paura Karmaika colony in city on Sunday, February 14 as part of ‘Patriotism day’. 

The members visited other colonies also and heard their grievances. The group cleaned in around the colony for an hour.

Ishwara has been working as a labourer of city municipality council, Udupi and two other people were felicitated on the occasion. Ramappa will get retired next year.

As many as 24 families and 125 people are living in the colony for many years. They have all basic requirements except proper drainage system in their colony. However, the families have no written land records. It is supposed to be issued by the government. Around 30 people are working under city municipality council for fixed wages.

“The residents of Paura Karmika demanded to have permanent land record of their houses or state government should felicitate an alternative to own a house,” said organizer, Shashidhar.

The Yuva brigade, Udupi unit was started in 2014. The mission of this group is to create social awareness among people and also to develop patriotism among youths by organizing patriotic theme base tasks such as ‘Vivekananda Rock Day’ (December 14), ‘Kalyani (pond) cleaning’, ‘Kargil Vijayotsav Rathayatre’, ‘Sasya Shamale’, ‘My Love My Nation’ and training camp to join army.

Subrahmanya, Mohit Perdoor and others were present.
