Mangaluru, Feb 15: A Bagalkot-based worker was found to have been killed near the stone quarry located near Gujjaragundi, Beluvai. The murder came to light on Monday February 15.
The murdered man has been identified as Shiva (30), a worker hailing from Bagalkot district. It is learnt that he was working for a quarry in Gujjaragundi. His body was found in a shed in which he lived with other quarry workers.
The body bears minor injury marks at several places. Policemen from the town rushed to the spot after learning about the murder, registered a case, and subjected two workers who lived with the deceased, to interrogation.
Reason behind this murder, and the details of accused are yet to be revealed by the police, who are continuing with investigation.
