NEW DELHI, Sep 17: Wildlife officials were struggling to catch a monkey which sneaked inside the security area of New Delhi's international airport and forced the brief closure of the VIP lounge, a security official said on Monday.

The lounge at the airport was partially closed for more than an hour on Sunday after the monkey scampered through the international departures terminal.

Wildlife officials have been trying to capture him.

"They are giving the monkey fruits to keep it in one area around which a net has been put," the official said.

"There was some panic last night, but now since the net has been put, the monkey is isolated."

The official said the animal entered the building from a hole in the ceiling due to construction at the airport.
