Sullia: College teacher from Bela killed in accident near Jalsoor

Sullia, Feb 16: A lecturer of a college here was killed in a collision between his bike and a tempo at Adkar near Jalsoor here on Tuesday February 16.

The deceased has been identified as Mahabala Kiran (30), who was teaching at KVG College of Engineering here.

Mahabala was a resident of Vishnumurthynagar in Bela, Kasargod. He was returning home by bike when the accident took place.

It is learnt that Mahabala's bike caught fire as soon as it was hit by the tempo. Mahabala sustained serious burn injuries and died on the spot, sources said.

He was the only son of Shivashankar and Prema Bhat. Apart from his parents, Mahabala leaves behind his wire Bhavyashree and daughter Akshaya. The family hails from Yetadka, Kasargod and had recently shifted to Bela.

    one more soul rested in peace due to the road accident. so many deaths... nobody cares... no government nor ministers nor authorities... god , what a situation we have come all the way. no value for a human life. Just commented on another matter where a youth lost his life due to lorry driver's mistake. no one cares... very very tragic situation we are in...

    Mahabala was my batch-mate during my Engineering studies in Sullia. Very sad incident. May the soul of Mahabala Kiran rest in eternal peace. RIP Mahabala.

    Either ban two wheeler or make separate lane for them.Its sad to hear so many youngsters loosing life in such accidents.May his soul rest in peace.

    A terrible tragedy which has killed a college teacher. May the soul of Mahabala Kiran rest in eternal peace. Deepest sympathies to his wife Bhavyashree daughter Akshaya, his parents Shivashankar and Prema Bhat. It is a terrible loss for the family and the society. May God give ll the courage and strength to bear this loss.
