Bengaluru: His body cut into two, man makes organ donation wish

Bengaluru, Feb 17 (DHNS): A 26-year-old man’s body was ripped apart after he was run over by a lorry at Thippegondanahalli near Nelamangala (National Highway-4) on Tuesday morning.

According to police, the deceased has been identified Harish N, a resident of Gubbi in Tumakuru district who was working in a private company in Whitefield in the City. He had been to his village to cast his vote during the Zilla and Taluk Panchayat elections held recently.

Around 8.30 am, on Tuesday, while he was riding back to work, a lorry tried to overtake him and brushed past his motorcycle. Harish lost control over his vehicle and came under the lorry.

Critically injured, Harish was found lying on the road for more than 15 minutes pleading for help. Finally, a few youths alerted the police and the ambulance. As he was run over by a lorry, his body was cut into two. But Harish was still breathing and struggling for life. While they were putting him into an ambulance, the victim asked the police and the ambulance staff to donate his organs, according to the police.

The police shifted him to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead minutes later. The public caught hold of the lorry driver, Varadaraj, and handed him over to the police. The lorry was seized and the driver arrested.

I watched the video and it is shocking. I hope his last wish is respected. RIP Harish. May God grant his family the solace and courage to bare this untimely loss. Through this message may I request Daijiworld to run a collection campaign to help his family. That would be the least all of us can do for his supreme sacrifice of donating his organs while he was facing his death. If Daijiworld could contact his family and establish an Bank account in his mother's name and publish it, I am sure many readers will help her.

Harish, REST IN PEACE. Even though you lost your life, you have given a new lease of life to those who are waiting for need of vital organs. God only gave you inspiration to donate your organs before your death. My sympathies to your bereaved families and loved ones. The receivers of your organs will remember you and your family throughout their life time. This is a rare case where a person gave a dying wish just before his death after an bike-lorry accident.

yes, we are praising for his gentleman ship. But ultimately what we have given him is a cruel death. that's also for no mistake of him. Are we realizing. One bloody giant killer , so called truck driver , knocked him down and drove above him cutting him to two. What's the punishment for this guy our society will give ? Nothing, he will be driving freely next day. It's something which we need to think about. hats off to this gentleman.

It is a very sad thing that
"Those whom the Gods love, die young"

In an age of total selfishness, pride, jealousy, communal & caste consciousness, even at the time of
giving up his life, Harish had such a large-hearted attitude of saving the lives of as many of his brethren, as possible, after his death.

RIP, Harish and you have made your family members proud, even in your death. May God console them in their moment of immense grief.

We promise to emulate your example in whatever positive way possible and make a change, in society.

A man on the verge of dying with pain and pleading for help to survive had enough courage and strength to utter his last wish to “Donate his organs”.
Immaculate is his thought, who cared and nurtured such a great love for humanity. The benefactors of his organs should return Harish’s love to his parents in their old age. That may solace the grieving parents and may wash the tears from their eyes. God have mercy.
