Puttur: RSS leader Talengala Venkat Ramana Bhat passes away

Puttur, Feb 17: RSS leader, retired lecturer and member of management committee of Kukke Subramanya temple, Talengala Venkat Ramana Bhat, popularly known as T V Bhat breathed his last on Tuesday, February 16 in a hospital in Mangaluru.

T V Bhat was 76. He is survived by wife, daughter and a son.

Bhat served as a biology lecturer for 21 years at Sri Subramanyeshwara pre- university college. Before that he served as a RSS Pracharak in Bihar, Gujarat and Nepal for more than 16 years. He was jailed during emergency.

Bhat also served as secretary in Bayaru Cooperative bank where he later became the president. He was also a director in the Campco board. He was involved in various social service activities in the region including the protection of environment.
