Mangaluru, Feb 17: "The present BJP government has not released sufficent financial grant for prominent programmes like NERGA to Dakshina Kannada which has resulted in hindrance to developmental works," said district in-charge minister, B Ramanath Rai. He was addressing a press meet at district Congress office here on Wednesday, February 17.

"While the UPA government from 2007 to 2013, released Rs 63.77 crore to Dakshina Kannada ZP in six years, the NDA government has released only Rs 3.49 lac in two years. This is an injustice by BJP to the people," he added.

Though the price of petrol decreased to $ 28 per barrel, the NDA government has not reduced the price of petrol and diesel. BJP is betraying the people. BJP during the elections had assured of bringing back black money, but despite being in power for the last 1.8 years it has failed to do so. People must question this. Rubber planters have been affected due to wrong import policy of BJP government. BJP will not win these elections without these achievements.

Rai refused to comment on the bypoll election results.

Ibrahim Kodijal, Suresh Ballal, Shashidar Hegde, former mayor Ashraf and others were present.
