Moodbidri: Missing man found to have committed suicide

Daijiworld Media Network - Moodbidri (SP)

Moodbidri, Feb 18: Kariya Koraga (45), a resident of Pernody here, had gone missing since February 11, after he went into the forest to collect firewood. His sister had filed missing complaint in the police station here on February 15, and the search operations launched by police and close ones had failed to find Koraga.

On Tuesday February 16 evening, Kariya's body was found hanging from a tree inside the Panambery sanctuary a little distance away from his home. Madu, sister of the deceased, who had complained about her brother's sudden disappearance, had gone into the forest on Tuesday with her husband to search for Koraga, when she found a decomposed body hanging from a tree. A careful scrutiny revealed that it was indeed her brother's.

Kariya, who was heavily addicted to liquor, is survived by wife and a son. Policemen from the station here visited the spot.
