Udupi: Oscar Fernandes starts campaign for panchayat elections

Udupi, Feb 18: Rajyasabha member Oscar Fernandes met Udupi Auto Union members on Wednesday, February 17 as part of election campaign for the upcoming panchayat elections. 

Speaking to Auto Union members, Oscar said, “Siddaramaiah launched ‘Annabhagya’ soon after he became the chief minister of the state. The scheme has provided food for poor families. The CM has made hunger-free state with this scheme.” 

“The CM has also launched many social welfare schemes such as ‘Ksheera bhagya’ which has helped to reduce malnutrition among children.” 

“Siddaramaiah government has released funds for the deprived and empowered people through schemes such as ‘Shadi bhagya’, loan waiver and others.” 

“The present government in the state is corruption-free, scam-free and pro-people,” he said during the election campaign.

Speaking further to union members, he said, “The state government is planning to implement special schemes for the betterment of working class and introduce sustainable health schemes.”

“People are responding in favour of Congress, so there is no doubt in winning panchayat election,” he opined.

Ramesh Kanchan, CMC councillor, Narasimha Murthy and others were present.
