Mangaluru, Feb 20: Thousands of devotees took part in the 4-day retreat which concluded on Friday, February 19 at Milagres grounds in city.

The retreat had started on Tuesday February 16 and went on for four days between 5.00 pm and 8.30 pm. Fr George Karamvelli from Potta retreat centre conducted the retreat in English while Dolphy Lobo translated into Konkani.

On the last day Monsignor Denis Moras Prabhu the vicar general of Mangaluru diocese offered Mass as main celebrant in between the retreat. Fr Valerian D’Souza the parish priest of Milagres parish, Fr Onil D’Souza the director of St Antony Ashram and Fr Michael Santhumayor the principal of Milagres college also participated in the Mass with assistant priests of Milagres parish and other priests.

Monsignor Moras Prabhu in his sermon asked the Catholics to forgive one another before offering prayers to the God because as per the Bible, God does not accept any offering when someone fails to forgive his brother.

Fr Valerian thanked all who were instrumental in holding the mega retreat for four days including Fr George Karamvelli, Dolphy Lobo, Brother Vincent who took care of choir, Ivan D’Souza and Savil Mascarenhas the vice-president and secretary of parish council of Milagres respectively and others especially volunteers.

Each day the crowd exceeded 7,000 while on the fourth days it was estimated at minimum 10,000.
