Mangaluru: Police arrest two persons for kidnapping student

Mangaluru, Feb 23: Police from Mangaluru rural police station on Monday arrested two persons in relation to the act of kidnapping a diploma student and robbing him of cash and a mobile phone.

Joyal and Vikki Bappal are the persons arrested.

A student, from Neermarga doing his diploma, was abducted on February 14 by a gang of four in an auto rickshaw. The gang, who took the student to Sulthan Battery area of city, stripped him and assaulted him. Then they took Rs 500 and a mobile phone worth Rs 8,000 from the student and ran away from the place.

The parents of the student complained to Mangaluru rural police station on February 15. Within days the police managed the crack the case to arrest two of the accused. Other two accused named Loy and Jayaprakash are yet to be arrested. Police are on look out for them.
