24 new male models to walk the runway at AIFW Autumn-Winter 2016


New Delhi, Feb 23 (IANS): As many as 24 new male models will be seen walking the ramp at the 27th edition of the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2016.

The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) conducted a male model audition for the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2016, here and there were many new faces who got their first break.

"We took a leap forward and after several years held the male model auditions for India Fashion Week. There were almost 200 models, who came for the auditions. FDCI board has decided to include one or two menswear shows as part of Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2016 and going forward increase the number," FDCI President Sunil Sethisaid in a statement.

The jury comprising ace designers Rohit Bal, Varun Bahl, Divyam Mehta and choreographer Anu Ahuja shortlisted 24 new talents, who were evaluated on their walk, fitness and attitude.

They will get an opportunity to walk the ramp for a specially curated, menswear show, to be presented by three young designers at the fashion gala, which is in association with Maybelline New York.

The five day edition of Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2016 will be held from March 16 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
