Bengaluru: Chief Justice of high court takes over charge

Bengaluru, Feb 24: Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee, who was functioning as acting chief justice of Karnataka high court since the last ten months, officially took over as permanent incumbent to this post on Tuesday February 23 evening. State governor, Vajubhai Vala, administered him oath of office at a simple function organized at Raj Bhavan.





Vala administered oath to the chief justice, after the President of India issued order appointing Justice Mukhejee as the chief justice of state high court. A number of dignitaries including chief minister, Siddaramaiah, high court judges, and advocates, were present at the function.

Justice S K Mukherjee had been transferred to Karnataka high court from Kolkata high court on April 15, 2015. From June 1 last year, he had been designated as acting chief justice of the high court.
