Dharwad: Murderer ends life fearing social stigma

Dharwad, Feb 27: A person, who had killed his brother in connection with property dispute on Thursday, ended his life on Friday. It is gathered that he was afraid of the backlash from family circles and stigma in the society.

The man in question, identified as Hanumant Doddammanavar (28), hanged himself from a tree at Byahatti village in Hubballi taluk on Friday. On Thursday, he had killed his elder brother, Beerappa, with a knife. After killing his brother, it is said that he began suffering from a sense of guilt, prospects of living in shame, and fear of facing the society.

A case was registered in the rural police stationl here about the suicide on the basis of a complaint filed by the wife of Hanumant.
