Priyanka Chopra gives away Oscar to 'Mad Max: Fury Road


Los Angeles, Feb 29 (IANS): Draped in hues of white, Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra presented the Oscar in the Best Film Editing category to "Mad Max: Fury Road" along with Hollywood star Liev Schreiber at the 88th Academy Awards ceremony here.

The awards ceremony was held at the Dolby Theatre here with glitz and glamour of the Hollywood film industry on Sunday.

And Priyanka, who is riding high on the international fame garnered through her American TV show "Quantico", added the "desi" touch to the ceremony. She is said to be the second Indian presenter at the foreign annual film ceremony, with Persis Khambatta being the first.

The award was given to delivered editor Margaret Sixel, which also marks her first Academy Award. Sixel thanked the team behind George Miller's directorial "Mad Max: Fury Road" while accepting the trophy.

"Mad Max: Fury Road" was vying for the golden trophy with "The Big Short", "The Revenant", "Spotlight" and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".

Priyanka added the bling on the red carpet of the Hollywood extravaganza in a stunning elegant creations designed by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad.

She opted for a structured cage bustier mermaid dress in white silk tulle adorn with 3D shimmering climbing flowers for the ceremony, and completed the look with the shimmering diamond drop earrings and rings.
