Udupi, Feb 29: E- Fitness, a renowned gym at Udupi district, organized Mr Karnataka Competition affiliated to Ministry of Sports Authority of India, Sports Authority of Karnataka and Youth Services and Sports, Government of Karnataka in collaboration with association of Body Builders Udupi at the Shamili Auditorium on Saturday, February 27.

Raju Hingalge from Belgaum district was declared as the winner of Mr Karnataka masters title. Sandeep Malpe won Mr Udupi title and Glen Dias secured the runners up.

The event also marked two main events that were Mr Udupi and Mr Karnataka. A separate category was also made for physically challenged contestants.

The inauguration of Mr Karnataka event was presided by Nadoja Dr G Shankar, G Shankar Family Trust, Ambalpady, Udupi while T Sathish U Pai, managing director, Manipal Media Network Ltd.

Speaking on the occasion, Pramod Madhwaraj said, “Fitness these days is not confined only to celebrities and sports personas. Every person should also be concerned about fitness and right diet. I congratulate Jason and Milind for organizing such event in Udupi.”

Competition also took place for Mr Udupi wherein categories varying from 55 Kgs to 80 Kgs took place. Collective winners of each category were considered for this title. Sandeep Malpe won Mr Udupi title and Glen Dias secured the runners up.

Other categories were best poser- Sandeep Kumar, Bangalore; physically challenged category- Vasanth Kumar, Bangalore; Senior title winner- Levin Kumar, Dakshina Kannada, senior runner up title- Anand S. Suvarna- Udupi.

Ravi Kumar, recipient of Kanmann Telegana master title and Rohit Shetty were felicitated on the occasion.

Annamalai, superintendent of police, Udupi and Yashpal Suvarna graced the occasion.

Sandeep Bhaktha welcomed and compered the entire event.
