Mangaluru, Mar 1: A man from Aikala near Kinnigoly in the taluk committed suicide at his home on Monday February 29.
The deceased, Surendra Achary (45), from Padamane, Aikala, was working for a furniture shop. He was addicted to liquor, it is learnt. On Sunday he had come home heavily drunk and raised a din in the house.
After midnight, when other family members were asleep, Achary ended his life by hanging himself from the roof beams of a shelter erected in the courtyard of the house. He had used the rope found near the well for the purpose.
On the basis of a complaint filed by Achary's wife, Mulky police have registered a case and taking legal steps.
