Udupi, Mar 2: “A video footage of plight and problems faced by the villagers of Ambalpady will be sent to Prime minister’s office,” said Shripathi Tantri, convener, Ambalpady Highway Consumers’ Welfare Committee (AHCWC) in a press meet at the press club on Wednesday, March 2.

Addressing the media persons, he said, “Eminent entrepreneur Dr B R Shetty from Abudhabi will be joining the convention and will address the villagers as well as locals of Ambalpady on March 3 at Ambalpady junctions.”

“Views regarding the problems of locals from Sri Vishwesha Theerta Swamiji, Pejawar math and Sri Sugunendra Theerta Swamiji, Puttige math will be recorded and sent to PM’s office, New Delhi.”

“The committee members had met district president of BJP, Thingale Vikramarjana Hegde. But he refused to extend his support in the construction of a flyover and bypass at Ambalpady junction,” he said.

“Former MP Jayaprakash Hegde was behind stopping the construction work of flyover by sending a letter to Oscar Fernandez in 2013,” he alleged.

He pressurized NHAI to complete pending road construction work in Mangaluru and Surathkal before coming to Ambalpady junction work.

Ravi Shanker, Sunil Shet and Yogeesh among others were present.
