“This step taken by Concorde is mainly in sync with the increasing necessity of green measures all over the world, and especially in Bengaluru. This garden city has been undergoing a transformation in terms of a greater level of development in terms of infrastructure. This has been leading to harmful effects on the environment. Being from Bengaluru and living here, it is our duty to play our part in maintaining the beauty of our city.” said B S Shivarama, chairman of Concorde Group at the inauguration of the median garden.

The event was also attended by R Gopal Reddy, managing director of Concorde Group as well as B S Nesar and R G Anil, executive directors of Concorde Group.

Speaking at the inauguration, the mayor of Bengaluru, B N Manjunath Reddy said, “There is dire need for public private partnership to improve the green cover of the garden city. These are baby steps towards achieving the same and we are glad that there is greater participation on this front. We are glad that the Concorde Group has taken this initiative.”

Satish Reddy, MLA of Bommanahalli constituency said, “Everyone wants to enjoy the shade of a tree, but we need more people to plant them and improve the green cover. We have taken many small initiatives in this regard in our constituency and we have a long way to go.”

The Concorde Group has taken up this step as part of their CSR activity ‘Akanksha’. This will also help in taking a step towards the development of the city and taking a move towards adding to the green cover the city of Bengaluru has lost in the process of developing the city.
