Bengaluru: MLC Ivan's reference to immoral rowdyism in DK enrages opposition

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP/RJP)

Bengaluru, Mar 4: After MLC, Ivan D'Souza, made passing reference to immoral rowdyism prevalent in Dakshina Kannada district during his address relating to motion of thanks for governor's address, several BJP members stood up and protested against it. The issue hotted up the environment at the legislative council session for sometime on Thursday, March 3.

"Because of inflammatory speeches, intolerance and immoral rowdyism is on an increase in the state's coast," Ivan said in his address, to which many BJP members objected.

Ivan also said in his address that when boys and girls from different religions talk to each other, they are stripped, tied to trees and assaulted. At this time the opposition members stood up and said “A person from the ruling party only is complaining about law and order situation here. You have your own home minister. What is he doing? If you people cannot control law and order, why do you want to be in the government?"

State home minister, Dr G Parameshwar, resented this behaviour. Ivan also gave a call for ending politics of hatred in the coast by regulating public speeches which incite communal violence and by controlling immoral rowdyism. Council chairman, Shankaramurthy, reined in the members who frequently interrupted the speech by reminding them of the time constraint.

Earlier in his address, Ivan hailed Siddaramaiah for providing efficient governance and achieving several milestones. He also said that the panchayat election has reflected popularity of the government particularly among rural masses, who have decisively voted for Congress by rejecting BJP.

I totally agree with the BJP minister who said that its the duty of the home minister to control such unlawful activities. But the fact is that the BJP has infiltrated the who police force with RSS radicals thats why the law cannot be enforced like it should be. This hijacking of the system by fundamentalists has to be curtailed by passing an act in parliament that if a police person is found to be a fascists then they should be terminated

Why BJP members should jump up and interrupt when Ivan was speaking the truth about immoral rowdyism . It should affect them only if they are involved in it. We all know that they are involved in it.
