Veerashaiva forum to hold protest opposing Justice Adi ouster

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Mar 4: Opposing the efforts being made by Congress leadership to unseat state Upa Lokayukta, Justice Subhash B Adi, Akhil Bharat Veerashaiva Vedike has decided to hold protest demonstration opposite the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Anand Rao Circle on March 10. The Vedike has termed the effort being made for the ouster of Justice Adi as a conspiracy hatched by the Congress.

The Vedike said that the government is trying to remove Justice Adi as Upa Lokayukta, as he has been a stumbling block in the efforts being made by the government to weaken the institution. "Uncalled for allegations are being levelled against Justice Adi as the government feels that installing a corrupt person by replacing him would be convenient for it," said former MLA, B C Patil, at a press conference held here on Thursday March 3.

Patil pointed out that the government did not make any effort to dismiss former Lokayukta, Justice Y Bhaskar Rao, although there was clear evidence about his corrupt practices. Therefore, Justice Rao resigned on his own. Justice Adi is a sincere and honest judicial officer, he said, demanding withdrawal of false allegations levelled against him.

Vedike president, Amrutesh, was present.
