Bantwal, Mar 4: A youth who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mangaluru after sustaining serious injuries in a road accident at Talath Mane in Madikeri has died on Thursday morning, March 3 without responding to treatment.

The deceased is V H Ashwan(18), son of V H Abdul Latif, resident of Mangaluru taluk Valachil by origin. They are staying at tenth milestone at Farangipete at present. With the death of Ashwan, the number of people who have died in the accident has gone up to three.

Five friends including Ashwan had gone on excursion to Madikeri in a car on February 24. Their car collided with the tipper lorry at Madikeri Talath Mane in the evening. While Shafik in the car died in the car on the spot due to the impact, Shameer, another of their friend had died in Mangaluru private hospital. V H Ashwan, Shameer and Irfan who were seriously injured were undergoing treatment in the same hospital. It is learnt that Ashwan died due to low blood
pressure this morning, March 3.

Ashwan was a student of BDPS institute in Mangaluru. Irfan and Shameer are said to be recovering and are out of danger.
