Mangaluru, Mar 5: In the wake of allegations of errors in the semester results of first grade colleges under Mangalore University, registrar (evaluation) of Mangaluru University A M Khan on Saturday March 5 convened a press meet to clarify on the issue.
"We want to bring to the notice of students that they need not panic. Whatever marks they have scored are intact. We are looking into the problems reported and within a week all things will be set right," Khan said.
"There is a little delay in announcing the results but the students need not see it as a problem. If they find any issues with the results or any discrepancy, we request them to bring it to the notice of the University through the helpline 0824-2287277 or our office at 0824- 2287327," he added.
"The results of some students have been withheld due to technical reasons like non-approval of admission, writing wrong codes, non-submission of internal assessment marks and financial statements by colleges. However, such results are immediately announced when proper clarifications are given by the college offices concerned. The students are requested not to panic and to report discrepancies if any in their results to the principals of the respective colleges or to the University help desk," he said.
On being questioned by the media persons whether the University was not responsible for the lapse, he said, "There have been some errors by the students in mentioning registration numbers, and in some cases the registered language is different from the one in answer sheets. Many other errors have resulted in the lapse.
"As of now about 340 complaints have been registered in the help desk, out of which about 202 are resolved. Within a week the problem will be set right. This is just the provisional result so students need not panic. If they find any error they can contact our help desk," he added.
Prashanth Nayak, special officer (exams) and Manohar Shivram, system analyst, Mangalore University were present.
