Mangaluru: Yogi Nirmalnathji anointed Raja of Kadali Jogi Math amid sea of devotees

Mangaluru. Mar 7: Sri Sri Yogi Nirmalnathji on Monday March 7 took over the reigns as the new Raja of Kadali Kadali Yogeshwara (Jogi) Math amidst a sea of devotees. Along with him, Sri Shriddhanathji was also anointed as the new Raja of Vittal Jogi Math. The anointment of the new Raja of Jogi Math takes place once in 12 years.

The ceremony took place at 9:10 am in the presence of thousands of faithful from various parts of the country as well as from the city. The office-bearers of Akhil Bharath Varshiya Avadhooth Bekh Baraha Panth Yogi Mahasabha, various sages from Nath Panth and members of the Jogi community witnessed the ceremony.

The ceremony began with hawan and homa from morning led by Vedamurthy Sri Vittal Das Tantri in the premises.

After both the Rajas were seated on thrones made of stones, various traditional anointments like 'Jallabhisheka' were done, after which the outgoing Raja Sri Sri Sandhyanathji handed over the sword to Sri Sri Nirmalnathji and anointed him with the Raja Tilak.

After the above procedures, the Raja installed the statue of his diety (Paatra Devata) after handing over the previously worshipped deity to the outgoing Raja. The outgoing Raja later handed over the documents of the Math and other belongings to the new Raja and attained the symbolic Samadhi with a holy dip at Tannirbavi near Bokkapatna Boloor after performing puja to his diety at the beach.

The new Raja will later appoint new office-bearers to the Math and will also make arrangements for the future travels of the outgoing Raja.

Former minister Krishna J Palemar, president of Karnataka Jogi Samaja Sudharaka Sangha Kiran Jogi, president of Paryaya Pattabhisheka committee H K Purushottham, former speaker of Karnataka legislative assembly Yogish Bhat, corporators Ashok Kumar DK, Roopa D Bangera, president of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Sahitya Parishad Pradeep Kalkura were present in the ceremony.
