Mangaluru: Three killed as goods tempo rams into Tata Ace at Yedapadavu

Mangaluru, Mar 8: Three persons were killed in a ghastly accident at Yedapadavu on the outskirts of the city on Tuesday March 8.

The deceased have been identified as Kallappa Chennabasappa Bodhikeri (38) from Hubballi, Sonu (23) from Jharkand  and Prakash Rao (54) from Mangaluru. 

The accident took place when a speeding goods tempo rammed into a Tata Ace which was parked by the side of the road. All three who were in the Tata Ace were killed on the spot.

All the deceased and injured persons worked for a groceries distribution company in Mangaluru. They had gone for line sales during the accident. 

Another person identified as Rajesh (24) from Jharkand was seriously injured and has been admitted to hospital.

Prakash Rao's mother had passed away only four days back on Saturday. He could not go for line sales for four days because of the funeral of his mother. On Tuesday, he had told his colleagues that he would come back early. He is survived by wife and two sons. 

Bajpe police have registered a case.
