Mumbai: Goregaon Karnataka Sangha holds women's day

Mumbai, Mar 9: Goregaon Karnataka Sangha women's wing celebrated world women's day at Barkur Rukmini Shetty mini hall, Goregaon on Tuesday March 8 evening.




In the programme presided by president of the sangha Devalkunda Bhaskar Shetty, author Aparna Rao delivered a lecture with women as the subject. The annual late Professor Nalini Vishwanath Karnad memorial literary award was presented to translator and author Shamala Madhav.

Former presidents of the Sangha, Shakuntala R Prabhu, G T Acharya, Mundkooru Surendra Salian, Payyaru Ramesh Shetty and other office bearers were present. Indira Moily and Suguna Bangera introduced the guests. The president presented memento and flower bouquets to the guests and honored them.

Women's wing executive president Sumithra Kunder welcomed the gathering and delivered the keynote address. Seema Kukarni and Vasanthi Kotekar said the prayer. Padmavathi Shetty read the award certificate. Usha Shetty compered the programme. Vidya Deshpande proposed the vote of thanks.
