Mangalore: Fishing Boat Sinks – One Dead, Another Missing

Mangalore, Sep 25: In a tragic incident, one person died while another was reported to be missing when a fisheries boat sunk at the mouth of the river Netravati here on Tuesday September 25 evening. The boat was on its way back to the Old Bunder Port.
The deceased has been identified as Krishnamurthi, who was steering the boat. Another person Salaiah is missing, according to sources. The authorities have little hope of his survival.
Bad weather conditions have been said to be the cause for the mishap. As many as nine people were in the boat initially. All of them jumped in to the sea to save themselves. The locals rescued seven of them while the body of Krishnamurthi was found much later. The body of Salaiah is still missing, sources informed.
