Kundapur, Mar 13: Two lorries collided head-on on Sunday, March 13 morning on national highway no 66 at Navunda and the driver of a lorry died on the spot.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Afzal (35) from Calicut in Kerala.
A lorry was coming from Byndoor towards Kundapur with a load of iron rods. Another lorry was going towards Byndoor from Kundapur carrying medicines. When both these lorries reached near Vinayaka hotel at Navunda , they collided head-on. Mohammed Afzal, who was in the latter lorry, lost his life immediately while the driver of the other lorry is out of danger. Local 24*7 volunteers and Byndoor police who arrive at the spot helped in shifting the vehicles from the highway for the smooth vehicular movement.
Byndoor police have registered a case.
